Step to it

You know those times, when you don't feel like going to youth group–but you go anyway, and it turns out to be a really good idea?  If you don't, then maybe you should try it sometime. Sometimes you'll hear something you never expected.

Ballet and Rock

Last night I had my first ballet class in over 10 years. It was so much fun! Not to mention I met some cool people there as well. I'm going to probably be taking the class consistently, though this first time was just a drop in to see if I would even like doing it–which I did! I look forward to doing a dance class once a week or so.  For those of you that don't know, I injured one of my knees a little under 2 years ago while doing some craziness, pulling a muscle that connects to the kneecap. The other was messed up several years before that, the muscles off to the outside and a little below the knee get painful cramps when it's cold and damp.  However! I'm still one of the most competitive people I know. Mainly because I have a great deal of pride, and that's not a good thing. Though, at the same time, I don't always let my injuries slow me down. I'm still one of the more active dancers at my youth group, and I'm probably one of the ones more willin...

This Year

So much seems to have happened already this year. And although we have so much of it left, we've already seen so much.  I feel like I've suddenly grown-up, and even though I know I have a long ways to go still, I can't help but feel like it's not as bad as I've come to imagine.  Here I am, in my last year of high school, getting ready to land my very first job. Prepping to get a drivers license, and finally figuring out that I do in fact want to dye part of my hair.  It might sound normal to everyone who's already gone and done it all, but the fact of the matter is that for each and every person who's about to go and do it--it might be more than a little scary.  I find myself thinking more and more lately about the past, when I would play for the whole day with my beanie babies (you had at least one I'm sure!) and play dress up with my imaginary friends. But also, not much has changed since then.  I still play with my beanie babies because I did...

Growing pains

I've been doing Tai Chi for 16 days now, and in the past week have had almost no back pain whatsoever! Frankly, I'm amazed at the fact that doing something so simple as Tai Chi, even if it's just a half hour out of my day, can provide such amazing results.  That and, a good number of the pains that I had been feeling, some of them were actually from me growing. I've grown an inch in the past four months, which does explain some things!  I've also been trying to grow mentally, especially in regards to my writing. I don't want to keep it hidden any more, and I don't want to just let it go unfinished.  My brain's previous logic was severely flawed which was, "I'm afraid of what will happen once I finish this, but I'm afraid to not finish this before a certain time in my life, so I won't work on it at all."  ^^^ try looking my profile picture in the eye and tell me that's not flawed logic. I don't want to keep my writing ...

Achievement Unlocked: Day of Firsts

Today was full of more fun than I would have given it credit for this morning. Considering I was more than just a bit peeved when I realized I wasn't told about meeting up with friends to watch my towns parade, not to mention I didn't know the parade was today. However, once we got there things improved greatly! While this was the second year I've gone to go see the parade, and only a little under a year of knowing a whole lot of my friends here, today was still full of firsts. 1) I took pictures of the parade with my film camera. 1b) Someone moved right in front of my camera right as I took a picture of a team of horses that I wanted to get a picture of. 1c) My friend and I made a lot of sarcastic comments about some of the people in the parade, mainly the ones that were on their smart phones.. seriously! You're riding horses in a parade and you're on your phone!? Who does that? 1d) Very few people wave in our parade... and I don't know why. 2) I bought...

Where it is due

You know, I often don't give people around me the credit they deserve. I've been going to this church for about a year now I guess, and already they seem to know me more than those I spent longer time with in churches.  These people don't know about my bout with depression, anxiety, or hardly anything about my past troubles or what may cause me to be suddenly plunged into a period of grief.  Yet, they seem to always know when I need to smile. People are happy to see me, and that makes me feel important. They make sure to acknowledge me in a group of people, that makes me feel noticed. I am high-fived, or hugged more often than not by pretty much anyone who knows me, and that makes me feel special.  Thanks to an extremely important service today, I was able to finally see that the problems I have been having are not with me, but the people who rejected me.  I was rejected for three years and didn't really know it.  I changed so they would like me, but ...

My Blag.

Blag, Blog, Bloooooooog. Tell me, did you read that last one with a oo like blue sound, or a long drawn out oh?  Either way it's still ridiculous and I love it because it messes people up and some days it's just a little fun to mess with people :) I really want this mug - awesome mug<---clickey clickey I also really want to write during Camp NaNoWriMo. That might sound strange but I am really pumped right now to write, and I am seriously messing up so many words right now that if I did not go back and correct them this would be a totally illegible blog post.  Someday I will post without any proofreading just to prove my point. That day I shall lose many writer-followers for being willing to post such a terrible monstrosity.  I shall therefore continue to use words like therefore and regain their trust.  In short right now, WRITING IS SO MUCH FUN! LIKE SERIOUSLY. IT'S SO AWESOME. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT BUT I'M SO EXCITED AND PUMPED RIGHT...

So I broke my phone

Not that that's anything really super new to the world of people who have owned phones, it can happen.  Mine just happened to be right before my parents picked me up from youth group.  Not only that, it cracked in a rather magnificent way, making it almost look like a canyon ravine was on the screen of my phone, with swirling rock...  Other than that it still kinda sucked because I cracked my phone. It wasn't any special phone, not an iPhone or anything like that, just a cheap-o that you can get most anywhere, but aside from that. No way I'm holding it close to my face now while having a phone conversation.  On the upside! By some miraculous sensation, the camera is now almost always functioning correctly, whereas before it 98% of the time refused to even turn on correctly. Go figure :P

A New Direction

So last night during youth group, I had a realization of the fact that I take all of these notes on post it notes during service, and a couple times some siblings have taken pictures of my notes to read later. But, despite the fact that I take all these notes, I will admit I don't think I've taken the time to go back and look at hardly any of them. I have them all on a cork board, but that cork board is on the inside of a door to my desk that I am not using a whole lot right now. So, both for my benefit, and I'm hoping some others that don't mind reading some others opinions and possibly discussing things bible related, I'd like to start posting things related to the notes I've taken, and to just talk some about it. I'm unsure of whether I should start doing it with the first notes I've taken, or with the most recent ones. Also, I'll either be doing this on Wednesday nights, or on Thursday morning like right now.  This will be a preliminary post I t...

I can do anything

I can literally do anything, and I have no desire to let anyone tell me anything different. Because I've proven again and again to people who've said, "You cant do that," or "You cant handle that." You know what I did? I did it. And I handled it. Sometimes better than the person who said I couldn't do it. Though more often than not the person telling me that, is myself. But no longer. Even yesterday... gosh. I was insane yesterday. I have a strange sense of proving myself to people who think I cant handle something. Like eating a Ghost Pepper Chip anybody? One of my friends at youthgroup offered me one, she really liked them, another one of my friends tried one without knowing what they were. The two guys there as well refused to try them. I, knowing what they were, promptly broke off a piece and ate it. I tell ya, that had to be one of the most hilarious times from yesterday. Aside from having a lot of fun over on one of the NaNoWriMo forums. But gosh,...

Party Bash

Last night's halloween bash was one of the most exciting halloween parties I have ever been too. And probably the only one with dancing.  Well, to start off with it all, when I got there I thought I was the only one in costume (there's about 40-50 people there) and so my parents decided to walk with me. On the way to the building, a group of teens that usually hang outside before Wednesday night service saw my costume and were essentially, "She beat you!"  Another pirate, his costume was simple, but easily a more practical costume. Mine was very complicated because I love to accessorize. So we had a moment of pirate appreciation. Then the self proclaimed, "little dead-riding hood" a girl who wasn't really sure what she was supposed to be and she needed a name, said I had outdone him. So pretty much throughout the night it was either, pirate's stick together, or pirate's rivalry.  And one of my friend's, and her boyfriend were a rather s...

Costume Planning!

*sung to the tune of an operetta.*  So today is a day. And for some things it is THE day. The day I have sent in an essay to school, and also the day I plan a simply fantastic costume for a youth party.. totally going to try and cream the costume competition with mine.  The verdict on what I am going to be, thanks to some friends over on NaNoWriMo, and my mom, is this-- Steampunk Pirate I'M SO EXCITED! I am mixing two of my favorite things together and I hadn't thought of this before!? Thankfully my mom is very supportive of my costuming, and in her words the best I can recall them, was essentially this--  "Honey, you're gonna let them know that this is your stage." :D I love my mom. Totally fine with me attempting to cream the costume competition. Granted I have no clue what the other's costumes are going to be like, since how I've never been here before... and I cant find pictures of any previous costumes they might have come up with.......
